Disabled Employees

Housing associations often address disability in employment as part of a wider diversity strategy. They recognise that diversity within the workplace brings many organisational benefits and that employment in housing organisations should reflect the diversity of the customers. Increasing the number of disabled people employed within housing organisations will make those organisations more disability aware and better able to meet the needs of customers. Until disabled people are brought into the heart of our organisations as customers, staff and voluntary members changing deeply held stereotypes will remain difficult.
